Complete Denture / Removal Partial Denture

Denture removal is an exercise that must be completed at the end of the day to completely and efficiently clean the denture. The removal and cleaning of the denture gives gums and mouth rest and cleans the denture. The person having denture should be able to take out the denture and clean them at least twice a day, just like normal oral hygiene, which we take normally.

There are certain steps which a person having denture must know and take the complete the cleaning task. These steps are easy to follow and just implementing them at least once will fix them in mind forever.

Complete Denture Removal –

First of all, the person must have a bowl of water ready to sink the denture. The removal procedure should be noted and implemented gently.  The denture is removed by placing the fingers or thumb between the upper denture and cheek. Then the person has to gently press the denture down from the point of connection with gum. The pressure should be equal on the denture.

For removing the lower denture, the fingers of thumb is place on the either side of the denture. The person has to gently rock them gently and pull the denture. The person also has to follow the instructions and suggestion given by the dentist. The first time it will take time, but in the following day, the practice will make the task very easy and routine.

Once out of your mouth, the denture should be put in the water immediately. The denture can also be put into the denture cleaning tablet solution. This step is necessary to prevent denture become dry.

Removing Partial Denture:-

The partial denture is put to replace the missing teeth and provide a support to the jaw and keep the natural appearance of the face. The partial removal consists of replacing replacement tooth attached to pink or gum colored plastic bases. The partial denture also comes with metal framework and clasps that are connected to the teeth. They also may have other connectors that look more natural. The partial denture can be removed by holding the plastic or large metal sections with the index finger or thumb and slowly remove using light finger pressure. The thin metal posts and clasps should not be touch, as they may get damaged easily.
